S. ASHER GELMAN (Artistic Director) is a director, choreographer, playwright, producer, and Artistic Director of Midnight Theatricals. His first play, Afterglow, premiered Off-Broadway in 2017, ran for 14 months, and continues to see productions around the world. He has directed and choreographed all of Midnight Theatricals’ critically acclaimed productions of the show in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Australia. A 10th anniversary production is planned for 2027 at Midnight Theatricals’ new home in New York City.

Off-Broadway credits include the Lortel-nominated Scarlett Dreams (playwright/director), We Are the Tigers (producer), and safeword (playwright/director). Films include Bookends (producer), documentaries The American Question and Sabbath Queen (executive producer), and dance films The Greatest City in the World and in memoriam (director/choreographer).

Asher’s new play, The Zionists: A Family Storm, had its world premiere at Miami New Drama in April 2026, followed by a run at Barrington Stage in the Berkshires.

Originally from Chevy Chase, Maryland. B.A. in Dance and Theater, Bard College; M.F.A. in Dance, The George Washington University. Cofounder and founding Artistic Director, The Stage in Tel Aviv. Former Advisory Board member, the Fisher Center at Bard. Asher lives in New York City with his partner, Stefano, his husband, Mati, and their two cats, Grogu and Rambi.

STEFANO MILICI (Executive Director) has been serving as the Executive Director of Midnight Theatricals since 2022, where he has overseen the company's strategic growth and expansion of its theatrical portfolio and its artistic partnerships. Under his leadership, he developed and produced the critically acclaimed Scarlett Dreams Off-Broadway in 2024, and spearheaded the sold-out London production of Afterglow earlier that year. Prior to joining Midnight Theatricals, he held various tech leadership positions for fashion brands Zegna, Giorgio Armani & J.Crew. He lives in New York City with his partner, Asher.

ROBBIE SIMPSON (Director of Creative Development) is a Manhattan-based director, producer, and actor whose work spans New York City, London, Shanghai, Sydney, Los Angeles, Chicago, and over 75 cities across North America. For Midnight, Robbie originated the role of Alex in Afterglow Off-Broadway and served as Associate Director for the London, Los Angeles, and Australian productions of Afterglow and Scarlet Dreams at Greenwich House Theater. Additional directing credits include A Charlie Brown Christmas at The Palladium Theater in Times Square, recognized by The New York Times as a top holiday event leading to three North American National Tours. Previously, Robbie served as Interim Artistic Director of Metropolis Performing Arts Center in Chicago, Associate Director for the Broadway National Tours of Chicago and A Christmas Story, and Associate Artistic Director of the Cape Playhouse. As an actor, he has appeared on Finding Mr. Christmas (Hallmark), General Hospital (ABC), The Path (Hulu), and Dietland (AMC), among others. Off-Broadway credits include work with La MaMa, The Mint Theater, The Gingold Theatrical Group, and The Juilliard School, along with leading roles at regional theaters nationwide, including The Old Globe, Syracuse Stage, St. Louis Rep, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Theatre Workshop of Nantucket, and Berkshire Theatre Group. Robbie is currently the Director of Musical Theater at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and a faculty member at NYU. He holds an MFA from the University of San Diego and a BFA from Syracuse University. Robbie is represented by UIA Talent Agency, 44 West Entertainment, and Morrison Media Group.
